The objective is to promote local manufacturing of agricultural machinery and other rural technologies through Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. The focus of the Centre is mainly to ensure that, it remains with the core function of research, development and coordination in agricultural mechanization and rural technology. In order for this sector to grow, a fast pace involvement and support of the government through CAMARTEC to local manufacturers mainly Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) cannot be undermined. CAMARTEC will adopt, from different sources, and implement relevant and suitable approach in working the private and public sector get involved in manufacturing, distribution and sales of agricultural technologies.

The strategic actions for local manufacturing of agricultural machinery and rural technologies include, but not limited to:

• Provide technical support to MSME;
• Undertake collaborative research and development with MSME.
• Undertake transfer of technology to MSME through commercialization agreements;
• Promote locally manufactured products through marketing and publicity.
